Like so many of us, I am deeply drawn to beauty - in nature, in music, in the arts....and in the past. I get such a thrill from discovering a beautifully made object dug out of an attic, barn or garage and learning about its past. What were the traditions, tastes and techniques that brought it to life? Where did it come from and who might have owned it? What does it say about how life was lived in a former time and place?
I'm not sure if it's just crazy curiosity, the thrill of the hunt or a love of sleuthing, but thirty years of antiquing and beauty still moves me. And I love to share it.
